The 100mm Ultra features major upgrades: a more durable aerospace-grade aluminum body, longer focusing distance (50–110cm vs. ~4cm in the original), improved optical structure (5 elements in 4 groups), anti-fingerprint/hydrophobic coating (AF coating), built-in cold shoe mount for accessories, and enhanced universal compatibility—even with phone cases.
How does the AF coating improve image quality?
The AF (Anti-Reflective) coating enhances contrast, reduces glare, and improves color accuracy while protecting the lens from water, dust, and smudges.
Does it require an app to use?
No app is needed. Simply clip the lens over your smartphone camera, open your favorite photo/video app, and start shooting. However, using a manual camera app (like Halide, ProCamera, or Filmic Pro) can give you more control over focus and exposure.
Does the lens affect image quality or cause vignetting?
No. The 100mm Ultra is designed for high optical clarity with less than 1% distortion and no vignetting. It’s optimized for both photo and video use.
